In early eighties, we were the first in the NGO sector to take up training in Braille shorthand and typewriting, in both Hindi and English. This has helped in creating a totally new employment possibility for persons with visual impairment, for whom such an avenue was viewed as inaccessible in the country, when we took up this activity in 1982. 103 visually impaired boys and girls have received training in this field, during the last 5 years.
